Michele grew up in Upstate New York and East Tennessee. Her expertise comes from hands on experience. During and after graduating college with a bachelors in video field production/documentary film making, she worked at the local Buffalo television station in camera and lighting on news and public access shows. She moved to Los Angeles and carved out a career in commercial production, climbing up from production assistant to producing to finally directing and writing. She is an expert in locations, camera, grip/electric, art builds, casting, scheduling and creates a clear path to success. She works with union and non-union crews, around the world. She has experience in every budget range and knows how to make challenged budgets work. She is nimble when elements shift and is able to adapt to quick changes.

In 2013 Shoot Magazine chose her for the director’s showcase for up and coming directors to watch. In 2016 she won the Academy of Motion Picture Nicholl Fellowship for her feature screenplay Talking About The Sky. She completed a screenplay adaptation for One Night In Mississippi for award winning Caviar Films, which made the 14th edition of The Blacklist.

Her short film Sweet Mercy opened at the Savannah International Film Festival and won best international short at the Overcome Film Festival. her short film adaptation of Talking About the Sky starring Rodney Crowell – which she wrote, directed, and produced will be opening soon – more information at talkingabouttheskyfilm.com.
